Open the App

When you open i-Nstrumen, you land on the dashboard. As a regular user, you'll mainly use The Lab and Live Status.

  • The Lab → browse equipment + take action
  • Live Status → see who's using equipment now
  • • Other tiles are for coordinators or restricted

Select Your Lab

After clicking The Lab, you'll see a list of all 13 IMEN labs. Click yours to open the equipment portal.

💡 If you were given a lab-specific link (e.g., ?lab=Cleanroom), you'll skip this step entirely.

Find Your Equipment

Equipment cards appear with photo, status badge, and action buttons. The buttons depend on the equipment's access mode:

Walk-in: Start a Session

Click Start on an Active equipment card. The session form opens. Fill in your details and submit.

Booking in Advance

Click Book to open the booking form. Fill in date, slot, personal details, samples, and payment method.

Date must be ≥ 2 days ahead. If you're a registered PIC, entering your email lifts this limit automatically.

Check-in on Booking Day

If you have an approved booking for today, clicking Start / Check-in shows an identity verification screen first.

Enter the same phone number you used when booking. Once verified, the session form opens with all fields pre-filled.

Reporting an Issue

Click Report Issue on any equipment card. Two issue types:

Equipment Breakdown → status set to Maintenance
Misconduct / Cleanliness → status set to Attention

Admin Email Gate

Click Control on the home dashboard. You'll be asked for your PIC email.

Only emails registered as a coordinator (in the Config sheet) are accepted. The system unlocks the panel pre-filtered to your assigned lab.

Approve / Reject Bookings

The Pending Bookings tab is the first thing you see. Review each request: user, date, equipment, payment method.

Approve — user gets approval email
Reject — add a reason in remarks (required)

Booking History

The History tab shows all past bookings with filters for status and month. You can revoke any approved or rejected booking — useful when equipment unexpectedly goes down.

Equipment List

The Equipment tab lists all gear in your lab. Add new equipment, edit, delete, or change status.

The 🔧 icon next to status indicates partial maintenance — some processes are flagged but the equipment is still partially usable.

Add or Edit Equipment

Click the edit icon (or "Add Equipment") to open the form. Configure all properties — basic info, status, access mode, calibration, and material/process options.

Tracking unit determines what the user sees as the sample-quantity label (pcs, mg, g, hours).

Process capabilities use a 3-level hierarchy. Users see cascading dropdowns when booking — each level filters the next.

Manage who has PIC privileges. Adding an email here grants admin access for the assigned lab — no password needed.
